Eleanor Phillps Brackbill, a DSDI member from Mamaroneck, New York, has published “An Uncommon Cape: Researching the Histories and Mysteries of a Property.”
The book, published by State University of New York Press, tells the story of the author’s small Cape Cod house. “Three mysteries precipitate an investigation into an otherwise ordinary suburban property, revealing a past inextricably woven into four centuries of American history,” the publisher says.
The author, a descendant of Arthur Middleton, includes information that can help others research the history of their own home.
The book is available “available wherever books are sold,” according to the publisher. More information is available online at www.uncommoncape.com.
