How one DSDI family celebrates the 4th of July

Ed and Susan Croft, of Atlanta, host a special gathering every July 4th at their home on Lake Burton in the mountains of north Georgia. They invite their friends, along with their Croft 4th of Julychildren, grandchildren and houseguests, to celebrate the birth of this great nation. The highlight is always a presentation by 13 children followed by a bell-ringing at 2 o’clock.

The photo shows the presentation, with each child holding a sign of one of the original colonies. On the back of each sign is a statement that they read, starting with the bravery of the 56 Signers who dedicated their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to the cause of freedom. Each child in turn reads about what happened to the Signers.

The grandparents and parents are blown away with this wonderful tribute and learning experience for the youngsters.
