DSDI Meetings:  A Rich Tradition

For over 115 years, meetings of the Society in a historic location have been the most important and intimate means for creating and maintaining the bond that exists among members of the Society, their families, and friends.

Three meetings are held each year—a fall meeting in a northern colony, a spring meeting in a southern colony, and the Annual Meeting on July 4th in Philadelphia.

Attendees enjoy camaraderie with like-minded individuals who are interested in learning more about the founding and history of our great country.

Spring 2024

Charleston, South Carolina

Sixty DSDI members and guests gathered in Charleston, South Carolina, April 19 and 20, for the spring meeting. Attendees arriving early attended a plaque dedication honoring Signer Arthur Middleton and enjoyed a free pass for the day at Middleton Place. Friday evening, attendees celebrated at a formal welcome dinner at an exclusive location where they had a chance to get to know each other during the ice breaker bingo game and later enjoyed a surf and turf dinner of salmon and steak. Saturday morning, the group explored the Heyward-Washington House and enjoyed a box lunch and annual meeting at St. Michael’s Church. Tour Guide Tommy Dew led the group on a walking tour of historic Charleston that ended at St. Philip’s Church. Saturday evening, everyone enjoyed a taste of the low country dinner at our host hotel while listening to guest speaker former Charleston Mayor and DSDI member John Tecklenburg.
